The wedding planners (Christie in particular) were faultless. Every single query we had was answered. Always polite and full of knowledge and went above and beyond to ensure the day was EXACTLY as planned. Every single member of staff at the hotel was polite and you’re always welcomed with a warm smile. Would recommend this venue to anyone. From afternoon tea, spa days, weekend away right up to the biggest day of their lives. 10/10

Greenwoods is a hidden gem….and long may it stay that way!, for it really is the true balance of class, elegance & country splendour in its grounds and the soul of the venue is filled so wonderfully by all the kind, generous and incredible staff. We feel blessed to have held our wedding there, and have had the most brilliant day, but even more so that we have found a special slice of the world for us to enjoy many moments together as we grow as a family.

I have great pleasure in writing a testimonial for Greenwoods Hotel and Spa, where we were recently married. We visited several venues across Essex before choosing Greenwoods. It was the sheer beauty of the location, plus your amazing support and the helpfulness of all your staff that swayed our decision. We only wanted a small, intimate wedding, and you immediately understood what we were looking for, and organised it all perfectly. The day was absolutely wonderful, the food was amazing, and we felt completely stress free as everything was taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, you were there at every part of the day checking that all was well. I can’t thank you enough for making our day so perfect and memorable. We have decided to return every year on our anniversary to try and relive the atmosphere! Thank you all again.

I am struggling to find the words to express my gratitude to the wonderful events team and staff of Greenwoods Hotel & Spa. My original wedding was set for April 2020. Covid created so much uncertainty in the world, the last thing anyone was thinking about was the hospitality sector. I was only 3 weeks away from my dream wedding and we were absolutely devastated. The events team went above and beyond reassuring me and my fiancé that all our hard work was not lost and we would one day have the wedding of our dreams. Over the next 2 years we rescheduled our wedding 4 times. I had heard of other brides where venues had refused to refund their money or forced them to marry with restricted numbers. I was so grateful to Greenwoods for their kindness, sympathy and generosity. On Sunday 17th April 2022 I was finally able to become Mrs O’Leary. It was the most perfect day and ran so smoothly. We received endless compliments about the food and service. I would like to thank all the staff at Greenwoods for making our day so special and worth the wait. Greenwoods has become a special place for us and I’m sure we will be spending many anniversaries here in the future.

We got married at Greenwoods in May this year and it was the most magical day, couldn’t have wished for a better day. We was also really lucky with the weather so we had the ceremony outside under the beautiful gazebo which was decorated beautifully. The staff at Greenwoods where amazing and nothing was to much for them. They made our day run so smoothly and that took a lot of stress away from us knowing that everything was being handled to perfection. The food was delicious and we had so many comments about it from guests. The evening Buffett was also amazing and there was so much food, the evening guests where really happy with the choices offered too. I couldn’t recommend this venue enough, the grounds are always immaculately kept and look stunning in wedding photos, the hotel and spa itself is amazing also. Christie our wedding coordinator made the whole wedding planning stress free specially considering we had to move our wedding due to covid, she was so helpful and the day wouldn’t have been so amazing if she hadn’t helped me through everything. Thank you again for everything.

Firstly… can we do our day again?? Not just because we had the most perfect day but we also had the most perfect venue. The staff… from arranging our first viewing to us stumbling in the next morning to collect our decorations from the garden suite, they were amazing. There was nothing that was too much trouble. I had a vision of how I wanted every detail to look & Christie along with her team made my vision a reality. The food was incredible, all our guests commented during/after our wedding to say how lovely it was,the taste, the presentation, the service & the organisation of everyone getting the option they chose. I really cannot thank Greenwoods enough, highly recommended to everyone. The Hudgells x

We were married in the beautiful Greenwood’s library in July 2021 just as lockdown restrictions were ending. The wedding planning team at Greenwood’s were amazing and supportive in ensuring our wedding went ahead as planned and helped allay fears and organise the event whilst managing the government guidelines. They went over and above and we were given access to the larger room for our reception to ensure social distancing of guests. All our concerns were dealt with and the stress removed by caring reassuring staff. Our day was beautifully organised and we could not thank the staff enough for the care they took for bus and our guests. The grounds are stunning and the library and garden suite were immaculate It was beautifully decorated and set up for our wonderful day. The food was amazing and all our guests commented on the presentation and quality of the food and service. Praise indeed as the groom had many years working in high quality hotels such as the Savoy and the Berkeley and was a senior lecturer in the hospitality and catering field. Many of our guests had travelled and were staying in the hotel, all were very pleased with the rooms and hospitality of Greenwood’s, so much so we are planning spa days and afternoon teas in the future. The bar staff were also fantastic and managed a busy evening with smiles. Our guests all commented on the service with a smile from all staff, nothing was too much trouble. We had the best wedding day with Greenwoods in July 2021. Both Shannen and Chrissie helped make our day so special and perfect to the point where even the chef was helping fix an issue with our wedding cake the night before. The venue was absolute perfection along with every small detail from the gazebo to table decorations.
As we have two very large families with lots of children the staff even got involved with the kids and were playing with them and making sure they were all welcome too!
I cannot thank the staff any more for helping make our day ours and a day all of our friends and family still talk about today.

Getting married at Greenwoods was the best decision we ever made! I wish we could do it all again! The whole team were fantastic. All our guests were kept commenting on how lovely the venue was and how smoothly everything ran. Nothing was too big or too small for the team. The food, the drink, the venue, the staff…it was just a perfect day for me and my husband and everyone invited. I would HIGHLY recommend Greenwoods to anyone who wants to get married in the future.
